Do You Still Want to Use a Vacuum Cleaner Bag?

There are more choices then ever on how to clean your house. It’s getting easier all the time. The big decision these days is what machine appeals to you more. If you are buying a new vacuum will it be one that uses a vacuum cleaner bag or the newer models that don’t.

It’s not that difficult a choice because either way you have to empty the vacuum after using it. The question is which option will be more efficient and less work. Removing a vacuum cleaner bag once it is full is not that much work but if you don’t know what you’re doing it can make an awful mess. Be careful not to rip the bag as you take it out. Gently extract it from the case and throw it into the garbage. Make sure the vacuum cleaner bag you are about to replace it with is the correct one. Check that it matches the make and model you are using. Carefully but firmly fit the bag over the hose. Once it’s on you can start to clean again.

On the other hand if that isn’t to your liking you can use one of the newer models that do not use a vacuum cleaner bag. These simply collect the dirt in side the canister usually in a special cup. Often the canister is clear so you can watch as the cup fills. When it reaches a certain level you will know its time to empty it. There is slightly more chance of making a mess when you use one of these models so be careful not to overfill the canister and have your vacuum blow back the excess dirt because its too full. One advantage to this type of machine is that if you vacuumed up something unintentionally it would be much easier to find it in the cup then having to rip apart the vacuum cleaner bag to retrieve it.

Interestingly the prices for the two types of machines are very similar. It will not be the bag or lack there of the determines how much you pay, but what exactly you’d like the vacuum cleaner to do.
